Lucie is a Scottish, Berlin-based product leader with more than 30 years experience in media and tech.
For the last 20 years, Lucie has led product and engineering teams at organisations including the BBC, Zalando and Google to deliver best in class user experiences across fashion inspiration, travel, news, sport (including the 2008, 2012 and 2024 Olympics), finance, children's games and video on demand.
Lucie started her career as a journalist before pivoting into product. Over the last couple of years she has also added executive coaching to her skillset and currently coaches internally at Google and externally with groups and individuals.

Product leaders are expected to be the visionary strategist, the organisational diplomat, the team coach and the final safety net for product quality — all at once.
Delegation sounds simple in theory but, in reality, it's really hard. It's one of the most difficult psychological transitions a leader can make. Moving from 'doing' to 'leading' can be a challenging mindset shift for high achievers.
How delegation happens matters too. Offloading tasks don't ensure they're done to the right vision and standards, but micromanaging can be demotivating for team members and calendar-cluttering for leaders.
In this 90-minute deep-dive session, Lucie explores how to create a culture of empowerment that enables teams to make high quality decisions without needing to be in all of the detail, all of the time.
The session combines slides, pair discussions, whole group discussion and silent personal reflection exercises. Lucie also provides access to further resources and tools for use after the event.
