< About >
Every product manager and leader is carrying at least one conversation they've been putting off. With a stakeholder who keeps derailing the roadmap. With a manager who doesn't see their impact. With a peer who might not be pulling their weight. Sometimes it's a conversation with yourself about what you actually want from your career.
These avoided conversations don't just sit there quietly. They take their toll in lost confidence or trust, missed opportunities or delayed decisions, in energy or peace of mind. Yet we rarely take the time to think about what we're actually avoiding and why.
This session uses LEGO® Serious Play®, a powerful hands-on methodology designed by LEGO for strategic thinking, reflection and team development, to make the invisible visible. We will build several models throughout the session that will help us give shape to both the conversations that we've been avoiding and the fears, beliefs or assumptions that make us avoid them.
The method and LEGO bricks create a safe abstraction layer. Participants will talk about their model. This makes sharing feel more natural, rather than exposed. And in the sharing, the table becomes an impromptu coaching circle.
This won't be a talk. There are no slides. Every participant builds, shares and reflects. The session ends with each participant defining action points or commitments towards their conversation: to have it, to reframe it, or maybe to consciously let it go.
